Writing Community
Ritrými í Reykajvík / Reykjavík in Writing is a community-driven writing workshop series hosted at MENGI in the heart of Reykjavík. The workshops are multilingual and admission free. Together we will explore creativity, poetry, publishing, multilingual writing, and more through shared practice, conversation, and guest-led sessions.
Writers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome.
Creating Writing Space Together
The first six meetings March-May 2026 will be hosted by Ewa Marcinek with guest writers and poets: Daniel Roh, Brynja Hjálmsdóttir, and Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson.
The space is co-created by its participants. Throughout the sessions, we write a collective manifesto, both as an artistic statement and as a way of manifesting our writing dreams and wishes into being, through mutual support and human kindness. Writing becomes a way to connect, and connection becomes a way to go deeper, explore new voices, and discover new paths in literary creation.
Ritrými í Reykajvík is co-founded by Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature, and created with support of Ós Pressan and RVK Poetics.
